Women's Soccer Honored with 14th National Team Academic Award in 16 Years

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's soccer team earned a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 14th time in 16 seasons on Thursday, and for the 13th time in 14 years. The Purple Knights were one of six Northeast-10 Conference squads to qualify.

By posting a 3.46 cumulative grade-point average for the 2021-22 school year, Saint Michael's met the minimum 3.0 GPA necessary to qualify for the honor. The Purple and Gold was one of 53 New England teams from across the NCAA's three divisions to be lauded, including one of five hailing from Division II.

The team's GPA was buoyed by 31 of the 34 Purple Knights who were members of the program during the 2021-22 school year landing on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll in at least one semester, necessitating their carrying a 3.0 term GPA. Saint Michael's heads into its 10th season with head coach Wendy Elles at the helm in 2022.
