Leys and White Land on NEWHA Weekly Honor Roll

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey sophomores Mary Leys (Newport, R.I./Saint George's School) and Leah White (Hingham, Mass./The Winchendon School) were named to the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Feb. 20. White claimed her sixth accolade of the winter, while Leys was recognized for the first time.

Leys turned in a goal, an assist and a blocked shot while finishing plus-1 in a weekend split of Post University. In a 5-1 win on Friday, Leys scored at 16:41 of the second period before adding an assist 3:02 later. Leys has two goals and an assist in 21 games, adding three blocked shots.

White made 32 saves in the 5-1 win over Post on Friday. Through 14 games, all starts, White leads the NEWHA in saves per game (42.6) while standing sixth in save percentage (.914). Her 597 saves are good for ninth in a season in program history.

The Purple Knights, now 3-19-1 overall and 1-15-1 in the NEWHA, cap their regular season with a pair of contests at Saint Anselm College this weekend. The puuck drops for Friday's opener at 7 p.m.
