COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse sophomore Spencer Scardino (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, April 10, landing the accolade for the third time this spring.
Scardino averaged 17.5 saves while turning in a .583 save percentage last week. In an 11-10 overtime loss on Wednesday at The College of Saint Rose, which received a national vote, he had 16 saves, six ground balls and a caused turnover. In a 16-8 loss at No. 4 Adelphi University on Saturday, Scardino made 19 saves in just 45 minutes.
Scardino is second in NCAA Division II in saves per game (16.1) and saves (177) and 19th in save percentage (.555). He leads the North Region in total saves and average while taking 12th in save percentage. Scardino's save total is fourth in program history, with the most since Jim Crozier '02 posted 192 in 2001.
Saint Michael's stands 1-10 overall and 0-6 in the NE10 heading into Tuesday's home contest with Franklin Pierce University, which received votes toward this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) national poll. Game time on Duffy Field is 3:30 p.m.
