Narby Earns NEHWA Division II/III All-Star Accolade

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey fifth-year senior defender Sel Narby (Huntington, N.Y./Connecticut Junior Rangers) was recently named a New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA) Division II/III All-Star, among 18 student-athletes to land the accolade, including three from the Northeast-10 Conference. Narby was one of six defenders recognized.

Narby became the fourth Purple Knight to earn three career NE10 All-Conference first team accolades, leading all NE10 blue liners in assists (17) and points (24) while standing second in goals (7). After totaling a league-best 28 points in 2019-20, landing NE10 Defensive Player of the Year honors in the process, Narby paced NE10 defenders in scoring in back-to-back seasons, an achievement last reached by Stonehill College's Brett Smith in 2004-05 and 2005-06. An assistant captain, Narby was a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award, recognizing the top men's ice hockey player at an NCAA Division II or III New England institution, for the second time.

In 98 career games, Narby recorded 22 goals, 53 assists and 75 points with 11 power-play goals. Among all NCAA Division I, II and III defensemen who were active this season, Narby was fifth in career assists. He will graduate with the most power-play goals ever by a Purple Knight defender - accumulated entirely during his final two seasons - while standing third in both points and assists by a blue liner to Hall of Famer Kyle Lanfear '98 (87 assists, 119 points) and Matt Rigtrup '11 (63 assists, 81 points).

Narby was also named NE10 Academic All-Conference this winter, becoming the seventh Purple Knight to land all-conference and academic all-league for the same season.
