WORCESTER, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team lost to Assumption University, 3-2, on Friday evening in the Worcester Ice Arena to open a two-game Northeast-10 Conference weekend series.

  • Holyoke scored twice in a 2:20 span of the first period to stake the hosts to a 2-0 lead. Just five seconds into a power play, he tallied with 10:08 gone before doubling the lead at 12:28.
  • With just 19 seconds to go, Ciancio cut into the deficit off of a helper from Narby, firing from the left circle.
  • Narby found the equalizer with another late goal during the second stanza, tying the game at 15:24 while sliding at the left post, finishing a play that featured quick passes from Flack and Egan.
  • Maribito struck for the go-ahead goal by going bar-down from the right circle on an odd-man rush at 16:52 of the third period.
  • With Turcotte out of the net for nearly the final two minutes, the visitors sent four tying bids toward net, with two getting through, as Schreiner was denied by Altman with 15 seconds left before Narby's shot just before the final horn was also saved.
