Men's Basketball Utilizes Balanced Effort to Down Sheridan, 83-61, on Canada Trip

OAKVILLE, Ontario - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team moved to 2-0 during its four-game Canadian exhibition tour thanks to defeating Sheridan College, 83-61, on Friday evening. The Purple Knights handed out 25 assists on 31 baskets while knocking down 11 three-pointers.

GAME FACTS

  • The Purple Knights continued their 1,000-mile road trip by opposing a Sheridan squad that won four Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) titles between 2012-13 and 2018-19.
  • The remainder of the Canada slate: Saturday at Toronto Metropolitan University, 1 p.m.; and Monday at Concordia (Quebec) University, 7 p.m. Saint Michael's bested Bishop's University of Quebec, 82-78 in overtime, on Wednesday.
  • The game was played by International Basketball Federation (FIBA) rules, which includes four 10-minute quarters (as opposed to two 20-minute halves in the NCAA) and a 24-second shot clock (versus the NCAA's 30-second shot clock).
  • The Purple and Gold assisted 25 of its 31 baskets, as nine players scored and eight had at least one helper.
  • Saint Michael's shot 46.3% to the Bruins' 36.9% while going 11-for-28 on three-pointers (39.3%) and limiting Sheridan to a 5-of-23 (21.7%) effort from deep.
  • While complete statistics were not maintained for the game, Milojevic led the Purple Knights' rebounding efforts, nearing a double-double for the contest.
  • Milojevic is the first Canadian to suit up for the Purple Knights since Montreal native Warren Daniel '00, a four-year member of the team and a captain his senior year.
