COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's basketball senior Patrick Gardner (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun/Nassau CC) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Jan. 9. He has landed six accolades from the league this season.
Gardner scored 33 points in 32 minutes with 12 rebounds, four blocks, one assist and a steal during a 65-61 loss at regionally-ranked University of New Haven on Saturday. Gardner shot 12-for-27 overall, including 5-of-14 from three-point range, and 4-of-5 on free throws while snaring two offensive boards. His 33 points matched a season high, while he recorded his seventh double-double.
Gardner is tied for first in the NE10 in double-doubles (7), second in rebounding (9.9), tied for second in blocks (2.3), third in scoring (20.0) and defensive rebounding (7.3), and tied for third in made free throws (3.7) and offensive boards (2.6). The 6-foot-10 forward is also 20th in shooting (48.2%) and tied for 20th in made three-pointers per contest (1.7). He is tied for sixth in Division II in double-doubles, tied for 14th in blocks per game, and 20th in rebounding and defensive rebounding, tying for second in the NCAA East Region in double-doubles, taking fourth in rebounding, tying for fourth in blocks, and placing fifth in scoring and defensive boards. Including his career at Nassau (N.Y.) Community College, where Gardner totaled 1,055 points in 68 games, he has 1,275 points and 730 rebounds in 79 college games.
At 4-8 overall and 0-5 in the NE10, the Purple Knights host The College of Saint Rose on Thursday at 6 p.m.
