THE ACTION

Perron added a go-ahead RBI grounder, with a second run scoring on an error on the play. A fourth run came around on a wild pitch, and Saint Michael's pushed the lead to 6-1 when a pair of runs scored on a throwing error.
  • Franklin Pierce scored three two-out runs in the second, keyed by Battipaglia's two-run double.
  • Flores hit a tying two-run double in the third before scoring the go-ahead run on a sac fly.
  • The Purple Knights averted further damage when center fielder Lanthier made a brilliant diving catch while fighting the sun in left center to end the fourth with a Raven at first base.
  • With the bases loaded and two down in the bottom half, Moynihan hit a tying infield single, and the go-ahead run scored on an error.
  • Franklin Pierce tied the game on an error in the fifth, but Clark's RBI single put the hosts back in front, 9-8, in the bottom half.
  • Lanthier nearly came up with his second robbery of the game in the sixth. With two down and Pesce on first, Lara sent a long drive to left center, and Lanthier went flying over the fence to make a catch, only to have the ball jarred loose upon him hitting the ground on the other side of the fence. The play went as a two-run home run, giving Franklin Pierce the final lead.
  • The Ravens scored a pair of unearned runs in the eighth to pad the lead.
