HISTORY
The varsity weight room, the first strength and conditioning
facility dedicated solely to varsity student-athletes at Saint
Michael's, opened in the fall of 2012.
FAST FACTS
The 2,250-square-foot facility occupies a former multi-purpose
area on the second story of the Ross Sports Center, overlooking the
basketball and volleyball competition court. The College's
student-athletes had trained alongside the general student body,
faculty and staff in the Tarrant Recreation Center since the
building opened in 1994.
Varsity student-athletes have access to such basics as dumbbells, kettle bells, a trap bar and variously-weighted bumpers. Additional highlights of the new equipment include three full power racks and platforms, two glute-ham benches, two FreeMotion Dual Stack Functional Trainers, four Schwinn Airdyne stationary bikes, four adjustable utility benches, as well as a variety of functional equipment.
